The $MEME team is happy to announce Tye Died as part of the $MEME Artist Series at #13.
Tye Martinez is an artist from California, currently based out of Bellingham, WA. Focusing on the connection between emotions and various art forms, Tye aims to mend the preconceived notion that feeling different is not normal. Speaking of all emotions should not be considered taboo, and art can be such an excellent gateway to help normalize what it’s like to feel down or different.

About Tye Died
Zak Walters and Tye Died linked up to chat about how he’s progressed as an artist and what led him to throw down his epic art on $MEME.
Zak: What first got you into NFT art?
Tye: I first started getting into NFTs just a couple of months ago while watching some mutual artists in my community take part. I’ve been really determined to get more into crypto in general, and I feel as though NFTs are the perfect avenue for me to do so.
Zak: How did you initially hear about $MEME?
Tye: I initially heard about $MEME through their campaign with Fewocious. I really loved their approach to NFTs and crypto-art and decided to reach out!
Zak: What do you find interesting about what the $MEME project is doing?
Tye: I love the way the $MEME project engages its users and makes it possible for multiple people to get their hands on NFTs that may not be able to win a bid on a rare piece. They also are very accommodating to the artists on their platform which is a huge plus for me!
Zak: What else excites you about NFTs and/or DeFi?
Tye: I’m really excited about the future of NFTs and crypto-art in general. I think this is the dawn of something truly progressive for art collectors and artists. It opens the door to something that was incredibly hard to achieve before and connects buyers and sellers in a more modern fashion.
Zak: Where will NFT art be in 3 years?
Tye: I hope to see NFTs way more commonplace in the years to come. I think we will have a lot more advancements in the tech and security behind buying and selling, and I hope to see a lot more accessibility into the market for all kinds of creatives.
Zak: What’s next for you as a digital artist?
Tye: I hope to move full-time freelance this year, as I’m still working part-time retail. Once I can confidently support my life and family through my art I hope to move more into the film industry and release more of my music as well. As for my visual art I hope to work with more musicians in the years to come.
