Stake $MEME to earn exclusive NFTs from abstract digital artist, VansDesign
We’re excited to unveil our next exclusive artist drop. This time, we’re featuring the amazing abstract digital artist, VansDesign. Vans has created 4 new exclusive works with multiple levels of supply.
Three of the brand new pieces will go into a staking pool. To mint these NFTs, you must first stake $MEME tokens. Lock any amount up to 5 tokens. Over time, you’ll earn some points and you can mint a brand-new, exclusive MEME x VANSDESIGN NFT.
One final piece will go up for auction next week. Like the Sven auction, 80% will go to the artist, 10% to the MEME dev fund, and 10% to charity. VansDesign has selected Grassroots Economics as the recipient of the charity proceeds.
$MEME Artist Series 1
As the Meme community continues to push the boundaries of DeFi + crypto art, we’re happy to announce our second exclusive artist collection.
VansDesign is a digital artist and graphic designer from Italy with an interest in abstract digital art, whose work showcases new ways to mix and blend design and art with a touch of bright contrast colors. You can follow VansDesign on Twitter and Instagram.
Starting today, $MEME holders can begin to stake and start mining these rare NFTs. The Vans pool is a brand new pool. Again, no LP tokens are needed.
Meet the Artist
Jordan Lyall caught up with VansDesign to ask what attracted him to a collaboration with $MEME:
Jordan: What first got you into NFT art?
VansDesign: I was coming from a burned out period where I wasn’t creating as much as I wanted and I started to look around at what other fellow artists and designers were doing. I think it was around September 2019 where I saw NFT art take off and I knew I wanted to be part of it. For a self taught and self employed artist/designer was a great opportunity to earn something extra while having the max creative expression and freedom when creating digital art!
Jordan: How did you initially hear about $MEME?
VansDesign: As i started to get involved more in the NFT ecosystem especially outside of just art markets, I started to notice some of the other spaces developing and learned a lot about social tokens, DeFi, farming etc. and even if I’m not the most technical person i started messing around with providing liquidity for tokens (shoutout to the $WHALE fam) and getting my feet wet with projects involved in governance, mining etc.
Jordan: What do you find interesting about what the $MEME project is doing?
VansDesign: I think what $MEME brings to the table is the potential of what the NFT ecosystem and communities around tokens should and could achieve. People want to own NFTs and own tokens and use them in a way that rewards them. Being able to farm NFTs with the tokens you hold gives power even to the smaller holders and brings everyone together under the same community.
Jordan: What else excites you about NFTs and/or DeFi?
Jordan: Where will NFT art be in 3 years?
VansDesign: I have no doubt that in a few years NFT art will be so much bigger than what we could imagine now, a lot of artists from different backgrounds are starting to notice the space and are attracted by the potential of it. It’s also not only images and videos anymore, while we already had artists like zpl1t and DaoRecords bring music NFTs to the scene, other big music artists are joining and bringing a way bigger approach to tokenized music combined with visual assets. Tokenized 3D models started to be a thing not long ago, all in chain metadata NFT art as well like the guys at PixelChain and Avastars. NFT art will keep expanding to any type of digital assets and keep finding new ways to use them beyond just collecting art!
Jordan: What’s next for you as a digital artist?
VansDesign: When I started this journey one year ago once i sold my first tokenized piece i would have never thought i would be in the position that i am now. I’m fortunate to be fully self-sustained by selling my digital art pieces and I can do and create anything that I like to express myself. Without having to worry about the next paycheck i was able to work alongside some really creative people and collaborate with some amazing artists and projects so i want to keep expanding on that. My focus for the next year will be to help the space grow by bringing more players into the game and I plan to do that in two ways, launching a fashion brand in collaboration with Metafactory that will combine digi-physical products, NFT art, governance and asset licensing all under the same project while still creating some cool merch for casual people not really familiar with the crypto scene. The second way would be to expand on my trademark collaboration adventures by approaching bigger artists that are not familiar with what we are all doing and exposing them to the space!
